From co-founder Linda Fuller to long-time volunteer former First Lady Rosalynn Carter, women have always been a powerful force in Habitat for Humanity’s mission of affordable housing and homeownership.
We invite you to consider joining the Women's Giving Circle, a group of women helping local families achieve housing stability by pooling their resources to sponsor Habitat construction projects.
The Giving Circle empowers women to be philanthropic on their terms. Members will have opportunities to volunteer together on Habitat construction sites and in our ReStores. There will be opportunities to meet Habitat homeowners, learn about the issues surrounding affordable housing locally, and join social gatherings created by and for members!
The vast majority of our Habitat homebuyers are single women with children. When women have safe, affordable places to call home, they build the strength and stability needed to create a brighter future for themselves and their families. At Habitat DC-NOVA, we know that affordable homeownership enables women to build intergenerational wealth and invest in their families and communities.
Members pledge to donate $2,000 over two years on a payment schedule that works for them. Donations in the initial cycle will be applied to cover the affordability gap for the Constitution Ave. project. Going forward, Habitat DC-NOVA staff will present multiple options for members to discuss and vote on early in of each new 2-year cycle.
We want the Women's Giving Circle to be an inclusive and accessible group. We have provided a variety of donation options for your membership so you can decide which works best for you. Below, you can make a one time donation of $2,000 for two years of membership or create a recurring donation that meets your needs.
